So I got a bit slack about posting updates, mostly because not a whole lot has happened over the last 6 months.
We have completed our electrical and colour appointments - be prepared to spend some $$$ during your electrical, there are so many things you don't even consider! We prepaid 5k towards our electrical and ended up adding another 11k from memory during our appointment. The great thing about Rawson is that during your electrical appointment they use a great program that shows you the dollar value as you go, so if you have a budget you can keep track of where you are at. The colour selection part was alot of fun, and way less expensive than the electrical, and we went in super prepared, so instead of the 3 hours scheduled our colour appointment took us maybe 20 minutes (it helped that we didn't need to do the kitchen and vanity details as we are doing these ourselves).
After this we signed off on the documents - this was around August this year, and since then we haven't even looked at anything to do with the new house! Our land registration has been pushed back, and is currently expected for the end of this month, however I have a sneaking suspicion this will be pushed out even further - so frustrating, I just want to get a slab down and get started already!
We have made some slight changes towards our kitchen design and colours, but as we wont finalise these until a few weeks before install, they may still change again! At this stage we are going a white gloss kitchen with 60mm Calcutta stone with slab ends to the island bench, and a step up 150mm laminate breakfast bar panel (in leiu of a dining table - examples below). The step up laminate panel and the bar back panels of the island will be a charcoal colour, while the remainder of the kitchen will be white.
